
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup of warm water
2 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 1/2 cup all purpose- flour
1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
1/2 cup cornmeal
All your pizza favorites (sauce, cheese, toppings)
Pizza stone
Directions:
In large mixing bowl, dissolve your sugar and salt in your warm water. Add oil and flour to bowl and stir with heavy (wooden works well) spoon for at least a minute. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and press into a flat circle. Sprinkle yeast evenly over your circle of dough and knead for 12 minutes.
If you are unsure of how to properly knead dough look it up, the wrong technique can cause hand cramping.
Once dough has been kneaded correctly divide dough into portions for size pizza that you would like to have. Split into half this recipe should make 2 12" pizza crust. Put your dough balls in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap and allow them to rise for 2 hours in a warm location.
After dough has risen place on a lightly floured surface and sprinkle and light coating of flour on top of each ball. Working outward in, press dough into a circle.
Heat your pizza stone in over at 500 degree's for one hour.
Coat a large cutting board with cornmeal and place the flattened dough into the cornmeal absorbing into crust move cutting board from side to side to confirm that it is not sticking. Add pizza sauce and toppings bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown on stone in your 500 degree F heated oven.
