Seeking the perfect pizza? Why not make it yourself?  Save money, save time, save your waistline, eat healthier & with pride…make your own pizza!  I can’t understand folks’ endless search for the ‘best pizza’…remember folks, the pizzas you are paying money to try were created by someone whose tastes are not your own;  you don’t know the importance they put on freshness & food quality, or even what you are actually consuming. They may (hopefully) strive to create a pizza that most others will enjoy, and perhaps they even claim to care about your health…but rest assured they are paying more attention to their bottom line than anything else.  Doesn’t it make sense to make it yourself?  You can’t possibly make an easier meal, the possibilities are endless, the toppings as fresh as your back yard, the crust is baked just the way YOU want it, you’ll save money, and you have the satisfaction of providing for yourself!

Got kids? Think it’s too hard to cook dinner when you barely have time to sit down and eat with them? Why not use it as a time to teach? Better yourself and your children – teach them the value in preparing a meal for themselves – it’s a lesson, I’m afraid, that has largely been skipped the last couple generations, and the results can be seen all over the average American as obesity rates skyrocket.

Those of you old enough will remember when it was a treat to eat out; everything was prepared at home.  Families ate together and stayed much more healthy and fit as well. Generations later we are fatter, lazier and more dependent than ever on others for our basic needs…Stay at home, shed some pounds & TAKE BACK THE KITCHEN!

You are so right Dawn! Cooking at home is loads of fun! I like how you tied making it at home with teaching the kids. Cooking was a large part up my upbringing and it is something I would like to pass along to my own babies. We have had build your own pizza night many times, even the mess seems a little more bearable knowing the fun that was behind it. However, it is still fun to go to different places to see what new things they are up to.  I know that when I got out I almost always try to replicate the meal I have had, it is like a challenge.

I partially agree with what you are saying about eating at home will help you shed pounds. When going to restaurants it is important to know how to order. I think that you can eat healthy and eat out if you order correctly. The number one thing that makes SOME pizza that you order out is the cheese and sauce. If you are lucky enough to go to Vegan friendly restaurants I feel they have really awesome healthy pies.

Also, some of us just can not cook, not even pizza. I have a little sister who burns water! I am not kidding she has melted a pot boiling water. She is 21 married, no kids, and enjoys wining and dining! There is nothing wrong with staying at home and eating, however, this particular section is more for those eating out. There is a plethora of recipes that you can go to for those nights that you want to stay at home and make pizza your way. Please log in and share some of your yummy family night recipes with us, I can not wait to try them!

Marions Pizza in Dayton Ohio has some great cracker crust pizza! Marions has a really chilled relaxed atmosphere and it is causal dress. All table seating in an outdoor like setting complete with a large tree. The wait is a little long but that is due to all the people that are here on top of carry out orders. Business is good at Marions! Ordering is a little complicated for my taste though. You walk up to one counter and order your food, I recommend the Super Cheese. This super pizza has pepperoni, sausage, onion, green peppers, and mushrooms all jammed on to a thin crust pizza that will leave you begging for more! They also offer other non-pizza items like subs, salads, and various pastas.

Once you have ordered your pizza you will want to go get your drinks from a different counter. They offer a full line of soda fountain products, as well as a huge cooler of beer and nonalcoholic beverages, and a few draft beers. Then you go to your self seated table and wait.

Little confused... let me repeat the process again. Order your pizza, order your drinks, find a table, wait for your number to be called to go up to get your pizza.

It is a lot to take in your first time but it is worth the wait and confusion!
